Eighty; INTENSE RUGBY
SO today was this long awaited rugby scrim. After hangin' around at Walbaums we went off to Glen Cove to play. 14 people there, you need 15 to play. S'more people came after getting lost on the way there. We had all backs and basically no experienced fowards. So the coach was like "Mohawk, hooker" I was like :O!?1?1!?!!?!? For the record, I've neve played hooker. I've never actually played, when I did play, I was weak wing. So they explained hooker. Which was pretty basic, hook the ball into the rest of the pack. After some more explaining/getting Jerseys we got on the pitch and started. It was BRUTAL. I was still completely lost, like the whole time. But towards the end I started to get the hang of it. Espically lineouts. I've got those down pact. I ended up playing the whole game as hooker, which was a ton of fun. Rob (coach) said we'd get working on throwing the ball into lineouts better, and tackleing throughout the week. Which hopefully means I'll be playing hooker for sundays game, I'd be pretty stoked. So the game ended, and we all hung around for a bit with the other team and that was generally it. Throughout the day I obtained/ordered rugby gear (boots, shorts, compression shorts socks) and all that. I'm pretty glad I joined rugby, I really dig it, and I can't wait to get back on the pitch.
